Mrs. Trecia Browne
Mrs. Trecia Browne is an educational leader, educational assessor, literacy specialist, and advocate for students with learning differences. With over seventeen years of experience in the public secondary education system, she has dedicated her career to improving literacy outcomes and supporting learners with diverse educational needs.
She currently serves as Director of the Caribbean Dyslexia Centre, where she leads initiatives focused on assessment, intervention, advocacy, and support for individuals with dyslexia and other learning difficulties. Her work has contributed to increased awareness of learning differences and the development of effective educational support systems throughout the Caribbean.
Mrs. Browne holds a Master of Science in International Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of the West Indies, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Secondary English) from Erdiston Teachers’ Training College. She also completed studies in Basic and Intermediate Spanish at the José Martí Institute in Cuba.
Her specialist qualifications include the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (CCET), awarded through the Caribbean Dyslexia Association in partnership with Real Training Group UK and recognized by the British Psychological Society's Register of Qualifications in Test Use. She has also completed professional training in teaching dyslexic pupils, handwriting, reading, spelling skills.
As an educational assessor and literacy specialist, Mrs. Browne has extensive experience in the identification and support of students with dyslexia and related learning difficulties. She is skilled in educational testing, literacy intervention, curriculum development, diagnostic assessment, report writing, and individualized educational planning. Her expertise enables her to provide practical, evidence-based recommendations that support student achievement and educational success.
Mrs. Browne is a member of the British Psychological Society and has received training in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) through the University of London. Her professional philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child deserves access to quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Through her leadership, assessment work, teacher training, and advocacy, Mrs. Browne continues to make a significant contribution to inclusive education, literacy development, and the advancement of support services for diverse learners.
