Our Vision

We think differently about Dyslexia.

Dyslexics have a wide range of unique abilities, but sadly our schools aren’t designed for students who think differently, and most teachers are not trained to teach them, meaning many dyslexic students go through life believing that something is wrong with them or that they are just stupid.

The Caribbean Dyslexia Centre applies the neuroscience of dyslexia, the best practices of special education, and the power of creative thinking to help students reach their full potential.

Dyslexic minds process information differently. They actually think differently.

However, many people in the Caribbean still only associate dyslexia with an inability to spell and read. Traditional benchmarks in our schools often only accentuate dyslexic challenges while ignoring or even penalizing the special skills of dyslexic students, who, in fact, have a full range of strengths including creative problem solving and communication skills.

Our purpose is to help students with dyslexia identify their unique strengths and build self-confidence.

The world has changed. The 4th Industrial Revolution with advanced technology and increased connectivity is creating new industries, new business models, and new jobs. We now need more young people who can think creatively and solve problems in unconventional ways.

We believe the world doesn't need more students who can pass standardized tests. It needs minds that think DIFFERENTLY!

Our world needs more dyslexic thinkers.
